KIDS
With bounce and rock, this dance style can never go wrong for kids. Any baby will first rock or bounce, if you drop music on their ears. That’s the foundation for this dance style. I will be introducing the fundamentals of Hip Hop to kids and teaching them a routine for them to practice. During my session I will also make it interactive for the kids on how they can use their individual body parts in their dancing on their own in a cipher!
ADULTS
With pausing and locking your body parts, this style is a social interactive dance form created by Sir Don Campbell and developed by many dancers in the late 60’s. This was first hosted in a TV show called Soul Train in the 70’s which was performed by ‘The Lockers’ and many other dancers. This created a sensation all over the world. I will be teaching fundamental dance moves that were known as the vocabulary of Locking Dance. I will teach my students a routine with the vocabulary moves and they can practice the dance moves at home. I will also demonstrate Soul Train and have you also do it during the workshop!
